Hemp, or industrial hemp, typically found in the northern hemisphere, is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species that is grown specifically for the industrial uses of its derived products. It is one of the fastest growing plants and was one of the first plants to be spun into usable fiber 10,000 years ago.Hemp is great for cardiovascular health-by 3:1 balancing of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids.

Fun Fact: In 1619, because hemp was such an important resource, it was illegal not to grow hemp in Jamestown, Virginia. Massachusetts and Connecticut had similar laws. During the 1700's, subsidies and bounties were granted in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, North & South Carolina, and the New England states to encourage hemp cultivation and the manufacturing of cordage and canvas.

Hemp is High in GLA-essential omega 6 fatty acids proven to balance hormones, High in protein- contains all 20 amino acids in addition to all 9 amino acids our body doesn't produce. Hemp seed extract does not contain psychotropic reactions.

Cannabidiol—CBD—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.

Scientific and clinical research—much of it sponsored by the US government—underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere. CBD has also been proven to counter act THC.

THC is short for tetrahydrocannabinol, and it's a chemical compound found in cannabis plants. When it's ingested or inhaled, THC binds to the cannabinoid receptors in your brain. That’s right humans and all animals except for insects have cannabinoid receptors in our brain. Low doses of THC help reduce pain and nausea, and help stimulate the appetite. In some cases, it can also reduce aggression. Larger doses of THC result in the marijuana "high" - an altered perception of time and space that comes with feelings of happiness, fatigue, or both. THC is also the most found Cannabinoid is the cannabis plant.

I grew up in Southern Maryland, just about 45 minutes outside of Washington, DC. When you ask most people what food they think of when they think of Washington, they'll probably tell you a range a things, from the delicious Ethiopian food brought by the beautiful people of East Africa, from politics, to the Chilli or Half Smokes @benschillibowl (yess they have vegan chili;), but to  me, there is nothing more DC than Deep Fried Chikun and French fries tossed in a bright red Mumbo sauce! Bought to Washington, DC in 1950 (some say Chicago, some Washingtonians will tell you 'That's complete BullSh**') Either way, this cousin of Bar B Que and grandchild of Sweet and sour, is my gift to Cali- what do you eat it with you ask? EVERYTHING!

Bean Pie is to some, what Apple Pie to others. Created in the 1930s by Elijah Muhammad in an effort to get African Americans away from the typical 'slave' diet- which consumed and still does in large parts unhealthy fried fatty foods, offering no real sustenance. At first thought, Navy Beans wouldn't go in pie, but this alternative to sweet potato pie is apart of my Black-American culture and I promise you'll dreaming of your next bite just the second before you finish your last!

  • 9 billion farmed animals are killed for food each year in the us!

  • Animal agriculture is responsible for 18% of all green house gas emissions more than the combined exhaust from all transportation.

  • livestock& their by products account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide per year or 51% off all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.

  • while millions of children worldwide go hungry or lack of water, agriculture is responsible for 80-90% of us water consumption; we could essentially stop producing animals for consumption and feed the world .

  • it takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of beef!

  • 80% of antibiotics in the us are used for livestock (yuck!)

  • more than 6 million animals are killed every hour for human consumption

  • we are currently growing enough food to feed 10 billion people

  • dairy consumption may lead to breast lumps.

  • in most cases their are no laws in place to protect farmed animals from animal cruelty.

We're changing the way the world views plants. We believe that with a plant-based lifestyle, we can all end world hunger, fight cancer, end food apartheid, empower farmers of color, save lives and the planet!

Our products do not contain ANY THC or CBD and will not cause a mentally euphoric 'high'.
